Abstract: EXPLORINGCOLORSYMBOLISMINHARRYPOTTERANDTHEDEATHLY HALLOWS Abstract Symbolstakesimportantpartinliterature.Authorsofliteraryworksusually usesymbolsintheirliteraryworksforrepresentingparticularideaintheir works.Moreover,writerusesymbolism theirworksbasedonwhattheysee, whatthey feel,and the information thatthey getin reality.Thus, understandingtheideathatthesymbolsembeddedinitisveryimportant becausethereaderswillunderstandliteraryworksdeeply.Furthermore,the readers willknow the author’s background knowledge.The researcher conductsthisstudybyformulatingtworesearchquestions.Thereare:(1) WhatarethecolorsthatareusedassymbolsinHarryPotterandtheDeathly Hallows(2)HowdothecolorsrepresentarchetypeinHarryPotterandthe DeathlyHallows?Basedonthesequestions,theresearcherintendstofind outwhatcolorsthatareusedassymbolsinHarryPotterandtheDeathly Hallows.TheresearcherusesArchetypalSymboltheorybyCarlJung.The data willbein theform ofdialogue,narrative,and descriptiveofthe charactersinHarryPotterandtheDeathlyHallows.Astheresultofthis research,thewriterconcludesthattherearesixcolorsassymbolsinthis novel.Thereisthecolorofred,thecolorofgreen,thecolorofblack,thecolor ofwhite,thecolorofblue,andthecolorofgold.
