| dc.description.abstract | This study aims to uncover the representation of human values in the novel “Togo” by Robert J. Blake through the lens of psychology of literature. The novel, which follows the struggles of a sled dog and his team on a rescue mission in Alaska, provides a rich medium to examine values such as teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study analyzes the text of the novel in depth. Elton Mayo's theory of human relations is a relevant framework to understand the dynamics of interactions between characters, especially in the context of teamwork. The results show that the novel “Togo” not only presents an exciting adventure story, but also a reflection of universal human values. The solid teamwork between Togo and his team, the inspiring leadership of musher Leonhard Seppala, and their perseverance in the face of extreme challenges, are the main highlights of this study. A psychological analysis of the characters in the novel reveals that these values not only play a role in the success of the mission, but also in shaping their identity and social relations. The study concludes that the novel “Togo” is a literary work rich in meaning and relevance. Through psychological analysis and the perspective of human relations, this research successfully reveals how the human values contained in the novel can be an inspiration for readers to face challenges in real life.
