Abstract: This study examines the discrimination faced by people with mental disabilities as depicted in Miracle in Cell No. 7 by Hanung Bramantyo. Focusing on the character Dodo Rozak, a father with an intellectual disability, the research explores the forms of discrimination he experiences in both social and legal contexts. The film illustrates how negative societal perceptions and systemic injustices lead to wrongful accusations and unfair treatment of individuals with disabilities. This study highlights the vulnerability of persons with mental disabilities within the justice system and emphasizes their rights as citizens that must be protected and fulfilled. Through qualitative descriptive analysis, this research aims to raise public awareness of the need for greater empathy, inclusion, and respect for the rights of people with disabilities. The findings underline the importance of eliminating stigma and ensuring fair legal processes to prevent discrimination and uphold human dignity.
