Abstract: ABSTRACT This research aims to find out how Marxist feminism is depicted in the short story The Diamond Necklace by Guy De Maupassant. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method to obtain and describe data on how Marxist feminism is depicted in the short story. In this analysis, it is found that there is Marxist feminism, which covers two aspects, namely economy and society. The economic aspect of Guy de Maupassant's short story The Diamond Necklace is the debt and poverty that Mathilde and her husband face after losing the necklace they borrowed, and the society aspect of Guy de Maupassant's short story The Diamond Necklace is social injustice and class inequality. This research shows that there is an impact of Marxist feminism on the main character's life, which makes her a victim of economic and social pressure due to the patriarchal and capitalist systems. Her dissatisfaction with her social status, her desire to be accepted in high society, and ultimately her suffering as a result of her attempts to fulfill social expectations, all reflect the destructive effects of class and gender oppression. In this study, the author hopes that readers will read the literary work to understand how the influence of Marxist and capitalist feminism is manifested in the story.
