Abstract: ABSTRACT This thesis examines the portrayal of bipolar disorder episodes in the protagonist, Theodore Finch, in Jennifer Niven’s novel All the Bright Places. Through a psychological lens, this study explores the forms and impacts of bipolar disorder, specifically focusing on the manic and depressive episodes experienced by Finch. The novel vividly depicts the profound mood swings associated with bipolar disorder, oscillating between periods of heightened euphoria and deep depression. The analysis delves into how these episodes affect Finch's interactions, relationships, and ultimately his desire to commit suicide. By analyzing Finch's character, the study aims to highlight the complexities of living with bipolar disorder and its effects on personal and social dynamics. The research underscores the importance of understanding mental health issues within literary contexts, contributing to a broader discourse on psychological themes in literature. Keywords: Bipolar Disorder, Psychology, Psychology in Literature, Novel, Jenniver Niven.
