Abstract: | ABSTRACT This study is entitled Code Mixing used by Beby Tsabina in a video Youtube Channel Beby Tsabina TV. Beby Tsabina is an Indonesian actress and content creator on YouTube with the channel Beby Tsabina TV. Beby frequently uses both English and Indonesian in her videos, resulting in a phenomenon known as code-mixing. This study aims to identify the types of code-mixing using Muysken's theory and describe its functions using Marzona's theory in three videos from the Beby Tsabina TV YouTube channel. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected based on Moleong's theory. The analysis revealed 14 instances of congruent lexicalization, 45 instances of insertion, and 47 instances of alternation. Functional analysis showed 4 instances of greetings, 31 instances of storytelling, 11 instances of expressing opinions, 26 instances of giving instructions, and 34 instances of conveying emotions. The results of the study indicate a dominance of alternation type in code-mixing and conveying emotions as the dominance function of code mixing. Keyword: code mixing, bilingualism, youtube |
