Abstract: ABSTRACT Vehicles that use a drum brake system which has been calculated with the load of objects and passengers. On vehicles that use a drum brake system there are lots of components involved in it, one of which is the brake drum, which functions as a friction medium for the brake linings when braking occurs. Understanding Brakes are an important element in a vehicle that functions to reduce and or stop the vehicle's speed. Description of drum brakes on drum brakes, stopping or reducing wheel rotation is done by friction between the brake shoe pads and the drum, the way it works is when the brake lever is not pressed the brake shoes and the drum do not contact each other. The brake drum rotates freely following the wheel rotation, but when the brake lever is pressed the brake arm rotates the cam on the brake shoes so that the brake shoes expand and the lining rubs against the drum. The working principle of drum brakes is the braking system on vehicles, which uses the friction method between the pads and a bowl-shaped component. The lining on drum brakes is different from the disc lining. Keywords : Brakes, Drum, Brake Pads, Wheels
