PROTAGONIST’S IMPROPER BEHAVIOR IN TETSUKO KUROYANAGI’S TOTTO-CHAN THE GIRL AT THE WINDOW

Abstract

ABSTRACT The results shows that there are three kinds of improper behavior performed by the protagonist character in the novel. They are Making a Mess in the classroom, Damaging School Facilities and Lying to Parents. The behavior discussed is the behavior of the protagonist who is too active and very curious, causing noise which disturbs the people around him. This research uses qualitative descriptive theory by (Sugiyono, 2014: 21). The research design used in this research is qualitative descriptive because the analysis process and findings are carried out by describing and illustrating the data that has been collected. Qualitative descriptive methods are used to explain improper behavior and examples of bad behavior of the protagonist from quotations in the novel. The results of this research are to find out what bad behavior the protagonist does, and the reasons why the protagonist does it. Keywords: Protagonist, Behavior, Disturbed Class, and Improper.
