Abstract: ABSTRACT The results shows that there are two kinds of repentance performed by the protagonist in the novel. They are Repentance of Hatred to his Father and Repentance of Hatred to his friend. The hatred analyzed is the protagonist's misunderstanding of his father and friend and the lack of honesty and communication. This study uses descriptive qualitative theory by (Aminuddin, 1990) the research design adopted in this study is descriptive qualitative because the process of the analysis and the findings are accomplished descriptively. Qualitative descriptive method is used to explain the hatred and repentance of the protagonist from the quotations in the novel. The result of this research is to find out the process of repentance in the protagonist, and repentance is what the protagonist does to make amends for the mistakes he has experienced.
