MINIMALISASI BIAYA TRANSPORTASI DISTRIBUSI PRODUK SUSU ULTRA MILK DENGAN METODE SAVING MATRIX DAN METODE NEAREST INSERT PT. SUMATRA UTAMA INDAH MEDAN

Abstract

ABSTRAK PT Sumatra Utama Indah adalah gudang distributor di kota Medan yang khusus menyimpan produk susu ultra milk. Permasalahan dalam peneilitian ini adalah cara menentukan rute pendistribusian menggunakan metode saving matrix dan nearest insert dan dari usulan rute transportasi yang baru dapat meminimalkan jarak, waktu dan biaya pengiriman. Metodologi penelitian dimulai dari identifikasi masalah, studi lapangan, survei perusahaan, perhitungan jarak, waktu dan biaya menggunakan metode saving matrix dan nearest insert, analisa dan evaluasi, kesimpulan dan saran. Langka langkah pengolahan saving matrix yaitu identifikasi matrix jarak, identifikasi matrix penghemat jarak, alokasi tiap konsumen ke rute yang berbeda dapat digabungkan sampai batas kapasitas truk yang ada dan menghitung total jarak, waktu dan biaya distribusi. Sedangkan metode nearest insert hasil output dari metode saving matrix yang diolah kembali dengan ketentuan memilih toko yang kalau dimasukan ke rute yang sudah ada akan menghasilkan jarak yang lebih minimum. Hasil dari penelitian ini mendapatkan total jarak rute awal sebesar 238,6 km sedangkan untuk jarak rute baru sebesar 115,4 km. Kemudian perbandingan waktu pendistribusian rute awal dan rute baru yaitu 21,21 dan 14,71 dan yang terakhir perbandingan biaya bahan bakar rute awal dan rute baru yaitu Rp. 245.758 dan Rp. 118.862. Rute distribusi yang digunakan oleh perusahaan belum optimal dikarenakan saat pendistribusian produk yang dipilih jarak nya jauh dari gudang dan lokasi tujuan selanjutnya jauh dari lokasi sebelumnya yang akan menambah biaya pendistribusian dan waktu pendistribusian Sehinggah metode yang digunakan ini dapat meminimalisasikan jarak dan biaya yang ditempuh oleh perusahaan. The problem in this research is how to determine the distribution route using the saving matrix nearest insert method and from the proposed new transportation route it can minimize distance, time, and shipping costs. This research methodology starts from problem indentification, field studies, company surveys for calculating distance, time and costs using the seving matrix and nearest insert methods. Analysis and evaluation, conclusions and suggestion. The rare rarity of saving matrix processing is the indentification of the distance matrix, the indentification of the distance saving matrix the allocation of each customer to a different route the can be combined to the limit of the existing truck capacity and calculate the total distance, time and distribution costs. While the nearest insert method is the output of the saving matrix method which is reprocessed with the provision of choosing a store which if entered into an existing route will result in more minumim distance. The results of this study obtained a total distance of the initial route of 238,6 km while for the new route distance of 115,4 km. then the comparasion of the distribution time of the initial route and the new route is 21.21 and 14.71 and the last time the comparision of the fuel cost of the initial route and the new route is rp 245.758 and rp 118.862. the route used by the company is not optimal because when the distribution of the selected product is far from the warehouse and the next desnation location which will increase distribution costs and distribution time so that the method used can minimize the distance and costs traveled by the company.
