Abstract

ABSTRACT The success of the implementation of the duties of the Republic of Indonesia National Police in maintaining public security and order, enforcing the law, and protecting, serving and serving the community. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the legal regulation of criminal acts of sexual abuse by members of the police, what is the role of the Provos Unit in enforcing the law against members of the police who commit criminal acts of sexual abuse, what are the obstacles in enforcing the law against members of the police who commit criminal acts of sexual abuse. , This research is a descriptive analysis research that leads to empirical legal research. The data sources in this study are primary data and secondary data. Primary data is data obtained directly from research. Data collection tools are library research and field research. The legal regulation of the crime of sexual abuse by members of the police is regulated in Article 289 of the Criminal Code and the Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia National Police Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Code of Professional Ethics and the Commission of the Code of Ethics of the Republic of Indonesia National Police which stipulates that every official of the Republic of Indonesia National Police in carrying out their duties and authorities must be able to reflect the personality, internalize and embody the ethics of the police profession which is reflected in their attitudes and behavior which are based on and inspired by Pancasila. The role of the Provos Unit in enforcing the law against members of the police who commit crimes. The results of the study show that the obstacles in enforcing the law against members of the police who commit sexual abuse are the low understanding of the Code of Ethics by members of the police and the understanding of Bidpropam itself regarding the thin difference between internal regulations of the Police and the Code of Professional Ethics.
