dc.description.abstract | RINGKASAN Jagung (Zea mays. L.) merupakan kebutuhan yang cukup penting bagi kehidupan manusia dan hewan. Jagung mempunyai kandungan gizi dan serat kasar yang cukup memadai sebagai bahan makanan pokok pengganti beras. Peningkatan produksi jagung manis dapat dilakukan dengan perbaikan teknik budidaya antara lain dengan perbaikan pemupukan. Pupuk organik cair Keong Masdan Blotong termasuk kedalam pupuk yang memiliki kandungan NPK yang tinggi dan baik untuk pertumbuhan tanaman jagung. Penggunaan pupuk organik cair Keong Mas pada tanaman jagung tidak hanya memberikan unsur-unsur yang dibutuhkan, tetapi juga dapat memperbaiki struktur tanah. Sehingga dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan kualitas produksi tanaman jagung Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara, Kelurahan Gedung Johor, Kecamatan Medan Johor, Kota Medan, Provinsi Sumatera Utara dengan ketinggian tempat 25 mdpl dan topografi datar. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Bulan Desember 2021 sampai dengan Bulan Maret2022. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian POC Keong Mas dan Blotong terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman Jagung. Penelitian ini mengunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan dua faktor perlakuan yaitu POC Keong Mas dan Blotonhg. Faktor pertama yaitu: POC Keong Masterdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu : K0 = kontrol, K1= 100 ml/liter air/plot, K2 = 200 ml/liter air/plot, dan K3 = 300 ml/liter air/plot. Faktor kedua yaitu: Blotong terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu : B0 = kontrol, B1 = 4 ton/ha dan B2 = 8 ton/ha. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, diameter batang,jumlah daun, luas daun, diameter tongkol, panjang tongkol, bobot tongkol per tanaman,bobot tongkol per plot, bobot buah per tanaman dan bobot buah per plot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian POC Keong Mas berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman, luas daun, diameter batang, panjang tongkol, bobot tongkol per tanaman, bobot tongkol per plot, bobot buah per tanaman dan bobot buah per plot namun berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap jumlah daun dan diameter tongkol. Secara umum perlakuan K3 (300 ml/liter air/plot) memberikan hasil yang terbaik. Pemberian pupuk organik Blotong berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, luas daun, diameter batang, panjang tongkol, bobot tongkol per tanaman, bobot tongkol per plot, bobot buah per tanaman dan bobot buah per plot namun berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap jumlah daun dan diameter tongkol. Secara umum perlakuan B2 (8 ton/ha) memberikan hasil yang terbaik. Interaksi antara pemberian POC Keong Mas dan Blotong berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap seluruh parameter yang diamati. Kata Kunci : Tanaman Jagung Manis, POC Keong Mas, Blotong SUMMARY Corn (Zea mays. L.) is an important requirement for human and animal life. Corn has adequate nutritional content and crude fiber as a staple food substitute for rice. Increased production of sweet corn can be done by improving cultivation techniques, among others, by improving fertilization. Keong Mas and Blotong liquid organic fertilizers are included in fertilizers that have high NPK content and are good for the growth of corn plants. The use of Keong Mas liquid organic fertilizer on corn plants not only provides the elements needed, but can also improve soil structure. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of North Sumatra, Gedung Johor Village, Medan Johor District, Medan City, North Sumatra Province with an altitude of ± 25 meters above sea level and flat topography. The research was carried out in December 2021 to March 2022. This study aims to determine the effect of giving POC Keong Mas and Blotong on the growth and production of corn plants. This study used a factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with two treatment factors, namely POC Keong Mas and Blotonhg. The first factor is: Keong Mas POC consists of 4 levels, namely: K0 = control, K1 = 100 ml/liter water/plot, K2 = 200 ml/liter water/plot, and K3 = 300 ml/liter water/plot. The second factor is: Blotong consists of 3 levels, namely: B0 = control, B1 = 4 tom/ha and B2 = 8 ton/ha. Parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, ear diameter, length of ear, weight of ear per plant, weight of ear per plot, weight of fruit per plant and weight of fruit per plot. The results showed that the administration of POC Keong Mas significantly affected the growth parameters of plant height, leaf area, stem diameter, ear length, cob weight per plant, cob weight per plot, fruit weight per plant and fruit weight per plot but had no significant effect on the number of leaf and ear diameter. In general, the K3 treatment (300 ml/liter of water/plot) gave the best results. The application of Blotong organic fertilizer had a significant effect on plant height, leaf area, stem diameter, ear length, ear weight per plant, cob weight per plot, fruit weight per plant and fruit weight per plot but had no significant effect on leaf number and ear diameter. In general, treatment of B2 (8 tons/ha) gave the best results. The interaction between the administration of POC Keong Mas and Blotong had no significant effect on all observed parameters.
