dc.description.abstract | ABSTRAK Latar belakang: Di zaman modern seperti saat ini, penggunaan internet khususnya media sosial sudah sangat berkembang luas, begitu pula penggunaan nya didalam dunia pendidikan dan dalam proses pembelajaran. Seperti yang kita tahu bahwa kaum remaja adalah pengguna terbanyak internet di Indonesia dan jumlahnya terus meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. Masa remaja merupakan masa dimana emosi sedang bergejolak dan cenderung ingin tahu tentang berbagai macam hal. Karena itulah masa remaja merupakan masa-masa yang sangat penting untuk diperhatikan. Penggunaan media sosial memang mendatangkan banyak manfaat bagi penggunanya, diantaranya yaitu dalam aspek informasi dan komunikasi. Perlu diingat, bahwa pemanfaatan internet dan media sosial dapat menunjang aspek pendidikan dan berpengaruh positif bagi kehidupan remaja, namun penggunaan internet yang berlebihan dan tidak dibatasi dapat menyebabkan ketagihan dan berujung pada kecanduan, lebih buruk lagi bahkan dapat berdampak buruk pada kehidupan dan prestasi belajar. Hal ini tentu tidak lepas dari aspek pengetahuan, kesadaran, kontrol diri, serta lingkungan. Tujuan: Peneliti ingin mencari tahu hubungan antara tingkat kecanduan media sosial dengan prestasi belajar pada siswa-siswi SMA Negeri 3 Depok. Metode: Penelitian ini bersifat analitik observasional dengan desain studi cross sectional. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 3 Depok, Jawa Barat pada Bulan November 2021 hingga Bulan Agustus 2022. Sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik total sampling dengan sampel berjumlah 242 orang. Data yang diambil melalui kuesioner merupakan data primer, lalu nilai raport siswa selama dua semester digunakan sebagai data sekunder. Selanjutnya akan dianalisis secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji Sommers’d. Hasil: Dari 242 Sampel, didapatkan data bahwa 9 orang (8,7%) tergolong kedalam tingkat kecanduan ringan, lalu 211 orang (87,2%) tergolong kedalam tingkat kecanduan sedang, dan 22 orang (9,1%) tergolong kedalam tingkat kecanduan berat. Serta dari 242 sampel didapatkan bahwa terdapat 223 orang yang mengalami kenaikan nilai, dan 19 orang yang mengalami penurunan nilai. Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat kecanduan media sosial dengan prestasi belajar siswa-siswi SMA Negeri 3 Depok dengan nilai sig. 0,998 ( p>0,05 ) dan untuk kekuatan hubungannya didapatkan hasil 0,000 yang berarti kekuatan hubungannya sangat lemah atau tidak ada hubungan sama sekali. Kata Kunci: Hubungan, Tingkat Kecanduan Media Sosial, Prestasi Belajar. ABSTRACT Background: In modern times like today, the benefits of the internet, especially social media, has developed widely, as well as its use in the world of education and in the learning proces. As we know together, that teenagers are the most internet users in Indonesia and the number continues to increase from year to year. Adolescence is a crucial time when emotion are turbulent and tend to be curious about so many things. Because of that, adolescence is a very important period to pay attention to. The use of social media does bring many benefits to its users, including in the aspect of information and communication. It should be remembered that the use of the internet and social media can support so many aspect of edication and have a positive effect on the lives of adolescents. But excessive and unrestricted use of the internet could lead to addiction and then become more addictive after that, even worse it could have become a negative impact on life and learning achievement. This, of course cannot be separated from aspect of knowledge, awareness, self-control, and the environment. Objective: The Researchers want to determine the relationship between the level of social media addiction and learning achievement in SMAN3 Depok High School students. Methods: This research is observational analytic with a cross-sectional study design. This research was conducted at SMAN3 High School Depok, West Java from 2021 November to 2022 August. The sample in this study used a total sampling technique with a sample of 242 people. Data that taken through questionnaires are used as primary data, then student’s report score that taken from two semesters are used as secondary data. Then it will be analyzed univariately and bivariately using the sommers’d test. Results: From 242 samples, obtained that 9 people (8,7%) belonged to the mild level of addiction, then 211 people (87,2%) belonged to the moderate level of addiction, and 22 people (9,1%) belonged to the level of severe addiction. And from 242 samples, it was obtained that there were 223 people who experienced an increase in value, and 19 people who experienced a decrease in value. Conclusion: There is no significant relation between the level of social media addiction and the learning achievement of SMAN3 High School Depok students, with significancy point 0,998 (p > 0,05). And for the strength of the relationship is very weak, or there is no relationship at all.
