dc.description.abstract | ABSTRAK Latar Belakang : Kolesterol merupakan senyawa lemak yang diproduksi oleh beragam sel dalam tubuh, dan sekitar seperempat kolesterol yang dibentuk dalam tubuh diproduksi oleh sel-sel hati. Beberapa faktor yang dapat meningkatkan kadar kolesterol adalah usia, genetik, sering mengonsumsi makanan yang tidak sehat, kurang berolahraga atau beraktivitas, sering mengonsumsi minuman beralkohol, merokok, mempunyai penyakit (hipertensi, diabetes mellitus, penyakit ginjal, dll), dan obesitas. Obesitas di seluruh dunia telah meningkat hampir tiga kali lipat sejak tahun 1975. Pada tahun 2021 di Dunia, obesitas telah menyumbang sekitar 2,8 juta kematian akibat penyakit tidak menular (PTM) termasuk penyakit kardiovaskular, diabetes, kanker, gangguan neurologis, penyakit pernapasan kronis, dan gangguan pencernaan. Tujuan : Untuk mengetahui perbedaan kadar kolesterol total pada kelompok orang dewasa yang IMT normal dengan IMT obesitas di desa purwobinangun kecamatan sei bingai kabupaten langkat. Metode : Penelitian analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling. Untuk menguji perbedaan kadar kolesterol total pada kelompok usia dewasa yang IMT normal dan IMT obesitas menggunakan analisa data independent t test. Hasil : Terdapat perbedaan kadar kolesterol total pada kelompok orang dewasa yang IMT normal dengan IMT obesitas di desa Purwobinangun Kecamatan Sei Bingai Kabupaten Langkat dengan nilai p=0,003. Kata kunci : Kadar kolesterol total, IMT normal, IMT obesitas, usia dewasa ABSTRACT Background : Cholesterol is a fatty compound produced by various cells in the body, and about a quarter of the cholesterol formed in the body is produced by liver cells. Some factors that can increase cholesterol levels are age, genetics, often consuming unhealthy foods, lack of exercise or activity, frequent consumption of alcoholic beverages, smoking, having a disease (hypertension, diabetes mellitus, kidney disease, etc.), and obesity. Obesity worldwide has almost tripled since 1975. By 2021, in the world, obesity will have contributed to around 2.8 million deaths from non-communicable diseases (PTM), including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, neurological disorders, chronic respiratory diseases, and digestive disorders. objective : To determine differences in total cholesterol levels in a group of adults with normal BMI and obese BMI in Purwobinangun Village, Sei Bingai District, and Langkat District. method : observational analytic study with a cross-sectional approach The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. To examine differences in total cholesterol levels in the adult age group with normal BMI and obese BMI, independent t-test data analysis was used. results : There were differences in total cholesterol levels in the group of adults with normal BMI and obese BMI in Purwobinangun Village, Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency, with p = 0.003. keyword : Total cholesterol level, normal BMI, obesity BMI, adult age | en_US |
