UJI EFEKTIVITAS EKSTRAK KOMBINASI JAHE MERAH (Zingiber officinale var rubrum rhizoma) DAN EKSTRAK KENCUR (Kaempferia galanga L.) TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BAKTERI Staphylococcus aureus SECARA IN VITRO

Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar Belakang : Staphylococcus aureus merupakan bakteri gram positif yang menyebabkan berbagai macam penyakit klinis di dunia. Staphylococcus aureus dapat menyebabkan Infeksi seperti infeksi kulit, infeksi luka, infeksi nosocomial dan sindrom syok toksik. Jahe merah dan rimpang kencur merupakan tanaman yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antimikroba. Di masyarakat campuran Jahe serta kencur kerap dijadikan minuman hangat wedang jahe kencur. Dimana jahe merah (Zingiber officinale var rubrum rhizoma) memiliki kandungan senyawa flavonoid, fenol, treponoid dan minyak atsiri yang mempunyai aktivitas sebagai antimikroba. Kencur (Kaempferia galanga L.) memiliki seyawa aktif yang terkandung didalamnya antara lain saponin, flavonoid, polifenol dan minyak atsiri. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas kombinasi ekstrak jahe merah (Zingiber officinale var rubrum rhizoma) dan ekstrak kencur (Kaempferia galanga L.) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus secara in vitro Metode : Desain Penelitian ini Menggunakan desain Postest Only Control Group Desain, yang dimulai pada bulan Mei 2022 hingga Februari 2023. Adapun populasi dan sampel dari penelitian ini adalah bakteri Staphylococcus aureus yang hasilnya akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji ANOVA. Hasil : Ekstrak kombinasi jahe merah (Zingiber officinale var rubrum) dan ekstrak Kencur (Kaempferia galanga L.) memiliki efek antibiotik terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus pada Ekstrak Kombinasi Jahe Merah 100% Kencur 0%, Kencur 100% Jahe merah 0%, Jahe Merah 75%, Kencur 25%, Jahe merah 50% Kencur 50% dan Jahe merah 25% dan Kencur 75%. Staphylococcus aureus can cause infections such as skin infections, wound infections, nosocomial infections and toxic shock syndrome. Red ginger and kencur rhizomes are plants that have antimicrobial activity. In the community, a mixture of ginger and kencur is often used as a warm drink made from ginger kencur. Red ginger (Zingiber officinale var rubrum rhizoma) contains flavonoids, phenols, treponoids and essential oils which have antimicrobial activity. Kencur (Kaempferia galanga L.) has active compounds contained therein including saponins, flavonoids, polyphenols and essential oils. Purpose : This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the combination of red ginger extract (Zingiber officinale var rubrum rhizoma) and kencur extract (Kaempferia galanga L.) to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in vitro Methods : This research design uses the Posttest Only Control Group Design, which starts from May to Feruary 2023. The population and samples of this study are Staphylococcus aureus bacteria whose results will be analyzed using the ANOVA test. Results : The combination extract of red ginger (Zingiber officinale var rubrum) and extract of Kencur (Kaempferia galanga L.) has an antibiotic effect on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in the combination extract of Red Ginger 100% Kencur 0%, Kencur 100% Red Ginger 0%, Red Ginger 75% Kencur25%, Red Ginger 50% Kencu50%, and Red Ginger 25% and Kencur 75%.
