Abstract: ABSTRACT The effect of problem based learning using picture media on learning outcomes of PPKn students of grade XI of SMAN 1 Bosar Maligas Simalungun regency RISKA TRI WAHYUNI Email : riskatriwahyuni234@gmail.com This study aims to determine the effect of problem based learning using picture media on learning outcomes of class XI students of SMAN 1 Bosar Maligas, Kabupaten Simalungun regency. The population consists of 4 (Four) classes with a total of 112 students and the sample in this study there are 67 students consisting of experimental classes namely class XI MIA-1 with a total of 34 students and the control class that is class XI MIA-2 with 33 students where the experimental class was treated using the problem based learning model of learning and drawing media while the classroom class was treated with the lecture method. This study uses a non randomized control pretest-postest design and the research method used is a quasi experimental design method. The instrument used in the form of a test of learning outcomes consisting of pretes and posttest each amounted to the same 20 questions, the observation instrument consisted of 8 aspects observed then assessed. Data calculated by findig the average value, normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test. Research results show that learning using the model of problem based learning using picture media can improve student learning outcomes. The average value of the control class pretes is 46,5152 standard deviations 13, 94660 and the experimental class 49, 7059 standard deviations 14, 35171, while the average posttest score of the control class 50,0000 standard deviations 12, 86954 and the experimental class 83, 3824 standard deviations 6, 93264. The results of the control class attitudes assessment results A = 0 students, B = 4 students (12.1%), C = 26 students (78%), D = 3 students (9.1%), E = 0 students. for the experimental class category A = 12 students (35.5%) B = 22 students (64.7%) of these results can be seen the influence of problem based learning learning models using image media on student learning outcomes PPKn on the material cases of Human Rights Violations in class XI SMAN 1 bosar Maligas simalungun District 2019/2020 school year. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari 4 (Empat) kelas dengan jumlah 112 siswa dan yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini ada 67 siswa yang terdiri dari kelas eksperimen yaitu kelas XI MIA-1 dengan jumlah 34 siswa dan kelas kontrol yaitu kelas XI MIA-2 dengan jumlah 33 siswa dimana pada kelas eksperimen diberikan perlakuan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran problem based learning dan media gambar sedangkan kelas control dibeei perlakuan metode ceramah. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain non randomized control pretest-postest design dan metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode quasi eksperimental design. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes hasil beajar yang terdiri dari pretes dan postest masing-masing berjumlah 20 soal yang sama, instrument observasi terdiri dari 8 aspek yang diamati kemudian dinilai. Data dihitung dengan mencari nilai rata-rata, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis (uji-t). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model problem based learning menggunakan media gambar dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Diperoleh nilai rata-rata pretes kelas kontrol 46, 5152 standar deviasi 13, 94660 dan kelas eksperimen 49, 7059 standar deviasi 14,35171, sedangkan nilai rata-rata postest kelas kontrol 50,000 standar deviasi 12,86954 dan kelas eksperimen 83,3824 standar deviasi 6,93264. Hasil penilaian sikap kelas kontrol kategori A = 0 siswa, B = 4 siswa (12,1%) , C = 26 siswa (78%), D = 3 siswa (9,1%) E = 0, untuk kelas eksperimen kategori A = 12 siswa (35,3%), B = 22 siswa (64,7 %) dari hasil tersebut dapat dilihat adanya pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning menggunakan media gambar terhadap hasil belajar PPKn siswa pada materi Kasus-kasus Pelanggaran Hak Asasi Manusia pada kelas XI di SMAN 1 Bosar Maligas Kabupaten Simalungun Tahun ajaran 2019/2020.
