Abstract: ABSTRACT This study is entitled Cause and Effect of The Protagonist’s Anxiety Disorder in Sophie Kinsella’s Finding Audrey. This research aimed to find out about the way the anxiety disorder is portrayed and the causes and the effects of the protagonist’s anxiety disorder. This thesis uses psychoanalysis theories by Sigmund Freud (1964) as the form of psychology and literature. In completing the analysis, the study uses a descriptive method by Creswell (2012: 274) which represents the data based on the facts stated in the novel. The data of this study is obtained from the novel Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella. The findings showed that there were data of anxiety disorder portrayed in the novel, the causes of anxiety disorder that portrayed in the novel which are threat, fear and response, the effects of anxiety disorder that portrayed in the novel which are the uses of sunglasses to avoid eye contact, getting out from school and being afraid out of home.
