Abstract: ABSTRACT This study is aimed to find out the protagonist’s struggle for better life in William Golding’s novel Lord of The Flies. In the novel, there is a protagonist named Ralph who tries to survive in his life. He tries hard to get better life. To find his struggle in the novel, descriptive qualitative was used in this study. The analysis and the finding are described qualitatively. The analysis show that the protagonist can survive and get his better life because he has been portrayed in the novel a person with several good characteristics. To begin with, he has features of being a leader. He is also charismatic. He has nice physical performance. Then, he tends to organize every matter. Besides, he is also civilized. He respects other people. Further, he is also described as a responsible person who always tries to overcome hindrance in his life. Because of those characteristics, he can survive for his better life. Finally, he succeeds his struggle for better future due to his good characteristics. Keywords: Life, Struggle, Survive
