TRUST VALUE IN RICK RIORDAN’S NOVEL PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS: THE SEA OF MONSTERS

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study deals with an analysis of the trust value in Trust Value in Rick Riordan’s Novel Percy Jackson And The Olympians: The Sea Of Monsters. The study uses the theory of Yousafzai (2003) for the trust value, and the theory of Mayer, et al (1995) for the factors of trust value. This study finds out the factors of trust value like, ability, kindness and integrity. This study used descriptive qualitative method proposed by Sukmadinata (2012) because it was done to determine the values of the independent variable. The method applied is to describe the factors of trust value through the story of the novel. The results of this study show that the characters in this novel choose to maintain several points of trust values in their life, such as ability, kindness and integrity.
