Abstract: SUMMARY The research was carried out in. People's plantation in Nogo Rejo Village, Galang sub-district, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. This research was conducted in January 2022 until completion. Observation of dry weight was carried out at the UISU Faculty of Agriculture Laboratory, while plant tissue analysis was carried out at the Soil and Plant Laboratory of PPKS Medan. The study used the Completely Randomized Block Design (RAKL) method with three replications with a combination of weed types and immersion (G) as a treatment consisting of 6 levels, namely: G1: Broadleaf weed (Asystasia gangetica L. (T.) Anderson) litter without planting. . G2: Fern weed (Nephrolepis biserrata) litter without planting. G3: Non-burrowing weeds (Paspalum conjugatum) litter. G4: Litter A, gangetica buried. G5: N. biserrata litter is buried. G6: P. conjugatum litter buried. Weed types, both unplanted and buried, significantly affected the litter weight of several types of weeds such as N. biserrata, A. gangetica and P. conjugatum (G1, G2, G3, G4, G5 and G6) in the 30th to 30th day of decomposition. 90. The N. biserrata and A. gangetica litters lost weight faster than the P. conjugatum litters due to the higher lignin content in the P. conjugatum litters. The litters of A. gangetica, N. biserrata, and P. conjugatum lost more weight faster than the submerged litters of A. gangetica, N. biserrata, and P. conjugatum. Keywords: Asystasia gangetica L.
