dc.description.abstract | Abstract This research analyzes the love of main characters found in the novel Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern. The novel is chosen as the source of data because this novel has psychological genre and represents the components of love. The study is conducted based on Triangular Theory of Love by Robert J Sternberg under the approach of psychology of literature. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative method. The inventions of the components of love in Love, Rosie is found in the writing style of the novel. The novel is written in the form of instant messages and letters that are sent between the characters. The results of this study indicate that Love, Rosie has three components of love that built the story into a love story. The components are intimacy, passion, and the last is commitment. The results show that intimacy is reflected by Rosie and Alex. Passion is reflected more in Rosie as she shows more desire and effort than Alex. Commitment is clearly seen by Rosie and Alex as they manage their love. The love remains strong and finally get together at the age of fifty. Keywords: intimacy, passion, commitment | en_US |
