The risk of death from malaria is higher than other infectious diseases. The cause of the high prevalence of malaria is the lack of knowledge and community behavior patterns in the selection of treatment. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge with the behavior of selecting treatment for malaria sufferers in Tualang District. Methods: This type of research is an analytic survey with a cross sectional design conducted on 96 people who have been diagnosed with malaria in several villages in Tualang District who have met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data was collected using interview techniques and closed questionnaires. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate using chi square statistical test. Results: The majority of the sample's level of knowledge about malaria was adequate (55.2%), poor (28.1%), while only good (16.7%). The majority of sample malaria treatment selection behavior was sufficient (38.5%), good (36.5%), while only poor (25%). Based on the results of the chi square test, it was found that there was a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the behavior of choosing treatment for malaria sufferers in Tualang District (p = 0.003). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the level of knowledge with the behavior of choosing treatment for malaria sufferers in Tualang District.
