ABSTRACT Tool wear is something that must be considered in planning the machining process. Wear that occurs as a result of the presence between the chisel and the workpiece or between the chisel and rage. Tool wear is something that must be considered in the process. In this turning, the workpiece used is AISI 1045 Steel with a plated CVD carbide lathe with a cutting length of 145 mm for each cut. This study uses an experimental method by varying 5 different cutting speeds, namely 100 m/min, 125 m/min, 150 m/min, 175 m/min, and 200 m/min, the depth of cut remains 1 mm with 0.2 mm feeding. /round. and measurement of tool wear using a dino lite microscope. The results of data analysis state that the slower the cutting speed, the higher the level of tool wear, on the contrary, the faster the cutting, the lower the wear rate of the tool.
