Abstract: The research focused on the style of Javanese political leadership revealed in the novel Arok Dedes written by Pramoedya Ananta Toer. The objectives are to find out the styles of Javanesse political leadership and to analyse them in Pramoedya Ananta Toer’s novel Arok Dedes. The theory used to analyse the syles of Javanese leadership is the one proposed by Endraswara (2013) who claimed that the Javanese political leadership style is known by its slogans of 5M, namely: 1) melek/awas (awareness/ controlling), 2) melik (feeling of ownership), 3) muluk (grandiose alleviating poverty), 4) melok (able to realize the aspirations of the people), and 5) meluk (embracing all the people). The research method applied in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The research results show that all the 5M styles of Javanese leadership proposed by Endraswara were found in the novel, and vividly reflected by the protagonist of the novel by the name of Arok. Arok as the leader of the Tumapel applied the styles proposed by Endraswara in ruling his kingdom, and by applying the 5 styles he proved to be an outstanding figure, and to have fulfilled the requirements as a good Javanese political leader.
