Abstract: This thesis deals with an analysis of the Protagonist’s Effort to Survive in Scott Neustadter and Michael H Weber’s movie script The Fault In Our Stars. This study is focused on two topics, that is, pleasing herself and doing medication. The Fault in Our Stars tells about a teenager Hazel, who suffers from stage 4 thyroid cancer and always carries an oxygen tank with a cannulaon her nose for her to breathe. In order to survive, she does some efforts that can please herself and do medication. In this study, the researcher applied the theory of survive proposed by Suharto (2009). This study uses descriptive qualitative method because the process of the result and discussion are accomplished descriptively. By applying descriptive qualitative method, this research can prove that protagonist has some efforts to survive because the two topics of the protagonist's efforts to survive really exist and can be faced by the protagonist. Based on the research analysis, the writer finds two results. First, The protagonist, Hazel does several things to pleasing herself i.e. meeting her lover, going to picnic and meeting her favorite author. Second, Hazel doing a medication i.e. doing some therapies and joining support group.
